"I'd rather push the Bullet than ride a Harley"

made me smile,,,, I'd certainly rather ride my Enfield than push my Harley, it's a tad heavy for that. But having owned 5 Harleys over the last 30 years I'm intrigued to know where that hatred comes from, was it a bad experience with the bikes? or the dealerships? They're amongst the best bikes I've ever owned, I've covered well over 100,000 miles on them and never had a single problem.

There's always been a second bike in the garage though and the Harley currently shares the garage with the Enfield and a 600 Transalp (another fine bike BTW, in truth, probably the only bike I actually need).

As you say, vive la difference.

it was Adrian ,I think, that mentioned classics.

Harley's... I don't like the look of most of the modern large chrome cruisers, but they have made some nice bikes. I do always joke that they grumble on tick-over, but all due to a company that has been in production for many years.

Anyway, here are a few older Harley's that I think look great. Photos from Offham rally and VMCC Aylesford

Some nice bikes there, though for me personally anything pre "Panhead" is a bit too old. Got to admit I'm not a lover of excess chrome either, as you can see, I'd rather be riding than polishing. 27,000 miles on this one so far and never missed a beat, perfect comfort for two and always puts a smile on my face, what more can you ask?

TBH I've seen lots of Enfields wearing more chrome than my Harley.

There are a few modern bikes I don't like the look of, but each to their own, beauty is after all in the eye of the beholder,,,,,,,,
