I am now sitting in the barn rafters and getting between H+ and 3G which is a lot better, just as long as I don't drop the receiver, computer or... myself!

It's a long way down!

Actually, not a spider this time...

The barn lights have two sensors and two override switches. Remembering that it is not fun at night, I switched on the override near the door to the house section. Jacques came out and used the bathroom, then went back in. He later said that he didn't see anyone and so switched the override off, thinking that somebody had left the lights on.

I didn't know anything until about fifteen seconds after he went through the door and out of earshot when the sensor switched off and bloody lights went out.

I only fell the last few feet with a couple of bruises, but if I do that again after dark, I'm going to nail that lucking switch ON!

I did get a good signal though!

"I am at the presents on railway station due to the fact that our Internet has gone bang so I probably won't be able to communicate for a few days. "
Question, how then did you send this message ?

Hi Vince,

Save you reading the whole post, I'll just paste from above...

Now we have a thing that is a little smaller than an iphone, with a usb lead and power brick. You just plug it in, and it pickles up 2G (all we have here is 2G apparently...) internet from the orange mobile phone network and you enter password on computer/phones as usual.

There we go! Landline still not fixed and the restaurant down the road is out too and they are really not happy.

Forgot to add, you get free internet at larger SNCF railway stations.

Imagine BR doing that??? (Or even the eurostar at ebbsfleet might be nice...)
