Once again I find myself considering a change of air filter. Whether to go for our hosts pancake style, which will involve re-jetting the carb, or try the tea caddy type. Not much in it cost wise. Pancake option may give a bit more power, though I'm not too bothered about that, but will get rid of the rubber connector hose which on my bike is always splitting. Tea caddy, as I'm lead to believe, shouldn't require the carb to be re-jetted. Either option will free up the air filter box for carrying a few more tools/ sandwiches. And finally,if I go for the pan cake filter, does anybody know what the new jetting should be. Bike is a 500 Iron barrel bullet with short sports silencer/ standard air filter. Carb is currently jetted thus: Main115. Pilot27.5 Not sure about needle jet. Bike runs beautifully and starts easily from cold. Still difficult to start from warm though (see earlier post). I'm a bit reluctant to fix something that's not broke, but thought eliminating the rubber hoses linking the air intake points together could help with warm starting, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
