Might be a bad earth in the ignition circuit/ TCI cabling which is then using the earth via the clutch switch as the path of least resistance. Disconnect that by pulling the lever and the engine dies. Poor earths do very strange things. If it's a mechanical rather than electrical problem perhaps it could be an air leak around the carb or exhaust, valves too tight and therefore sticking open when hot or perhaps the crankcase breather system blocked up.
