Hi,
I decided to fit the Boyer electronic ignition over the winter to my 2003 500 Bullet and now I have no spark! I knew I was being over ambitious as wiring is a black art to me. So I followed the instructions supplied by Hitchcock's and now nothing. There is a difference between what they say regarding the blue wire and what it says on the ignition unit. I`ve tried connecting the Red & Black wire, then the Black & red wire to the blue wire, still nothing. I connected the blue wire to the coil, nothing. I`ve got a new battery, fairly new coil and plug.
I did manage to connect the battery up wrong before I fitted the new unit and melted one of the earth wires. Could this have blown something apart from the fuse?
I`m getting nowhere with this so any advice gratefully received.

Is the new battery before or after melting the wire? If you had that much discharge on it might well not be a happy battery.
Do you have a voltmeter? If not, I'd be getting one to see where/if you have 12v.

I melted the wire with another battery but this was before I fitted the electronic ignition.

Ring boyer bransen in uk I found them very helpful, but if you have connected batt wrong way probable stuffed the coil boyer sells coils to suit their units. Unless you have connected boyer to wrong side of coil.
