I collected my brand new Marsh Grey B5 from Jones and Alcock in Stafford yesterday morning. Bit of a problem on the way home . . . crossing the A51 it gave a cough, a backfire and died and only with the quick reactions of the driver of the yellow 44t DHL truck (thanks mate!) I managed to paddle across to the kerb. Got it started again but the MIL light was on permanently in 'limp' mode (I know all about that at my age!) so we performed an about turn and back to Stafford. J&A very kindly lent me a Fiat Punto to get home and mid-afternoon I got a txt to say it was all ready for me. Turned out it was a faulty fuel pump relay. When I got there Jim Wilson was on the 'phone to MotoGB making the warranty claim for the faulty relay. When he came off the 'phone he was spluttering with rage . . . "They want me to take a 'photo of the switch, what on earth can they possibly see from a 'photo of a fcuking switch??". The rigamarole that the Dealers are forced to go through for any warranty claim is so complicated and convoluted that he's not going to bother for 1/2 hr of labour and a £5 part. Such is life under MotoGB.
