Hi, I'm Restoring an Indian Chief, the Stewart-Warner speedo has two springs for securing it but there is nowhere obvious to attach them to, any owners out there who could advise? Vince.

Hi mark, the springs are like brake springs and very stiff. My speedo is serviceable, but I understand the same type as period Harleys. Are you missing any parts? Vince

Vince, I've got most of 2 bikes, one matching numbers and more or less complete (as far as I can tell) and the other really just bits. I could do with various bits to make up the other one, do you need anything, or have anything to swap? I talked to Peter Bond who does speedos and he said they are the same as period Harleys and he's done a few of those.

Hi, mine is complete, have managed to get crash bars and spotlamps, would be interested in any trim parts as patterns. Do you have running boards? Oh and I found a source for the correct battery. Any parts you need ? Vince.

Vince, thanks for the reply, I do have crash bars and seat grab rail. I'd be interested in seeing pics of yours, you can email me on trials59(AT)yahoo(DOT)co(DOT) uk as it's good to get support from a fellow sufferer! I also have a Trailblazer which I'm slowly collecting parts for, in fact that bike might be my next project!

On the underside of the cast top yoke/speedo mount, at 9oc and 3oc are two small holes drilled up into the casting for the lower end of the springs to clip into.
