I have just spent an hour trying to find the screwdriver bit holder and handle from my small socket set.
It transpired my wife had borrowed it and not put it back.

I know exactly how you feel. I have found my tools in her greenhouse, in the cupboard under the sink and even in the bedroom. Thing is she has NEVER touched them☺☺.

Borrow her hair dryer to dry some Enfield parts, get some spots of paint on it and then don't return it. See what happens!! Dare ya.

Hopeless Rider, given my wife's skillet wielding skills, I would not dare do that.

I was "preflighting" the K75S and Squire ST1 sidecar, before we go to a motorcycle rally and checking the level of acid in the battery is a major operation, requiring the removal of the seat, putting the engine management computer box to one side, removed the seat locking mechanism, removing the battery clamp, unscrewing the six plastic caps on the battery and checking the level in each cell with a hypodermic syringe. (The level lines on the battery are not visible with the battery installed.)

I can sometimes spend a lot of time hunting for tools SWMBO has 'dusted' in the shed!
She hasn't moved them but put them 'back where she found them' !
I usually find them not 6 inches from where I'd left them in the first place but never before I've made the tactical decision of asking her where she's put them! (sheepish grin)
My ears are still ringing!

I must be blessed as this is not a problem in our house. Mind you, I'm always coming across her gardening tools rusting away in odd corners of the garden.

That only leaves a discussion about wether a squire old english, or the older Union six lever padlock should be applied to the shed door. They only get to come in if invited, and then under close supervision.

Well I managed to stay married and keep the shed and garage keys firmly in my possession, I also have my own bank account

Rule 1 - never lend your tools to anyone. If necessary give wife an old screwdriver to poke muck out of bird feeder (a stick would do it but). Wife has a habit of tidying so I can't find anything, I call it losing stuff. It turns up after I have to buy a new one.
