Quick update for anyone who is interested or appreciates closure on such things- test rode the bike earlier this week and ended up not buying it. It was in really good condition, but out on the road it seemed to hesitate whenever I opened the throttle. Took an age to settle to a sensible idle too. It looked likely it had been sat with the same fuel in it for ages (clearly hadn't been ridden that much, I think it had seen more polish than petrol). The optimist in me considered whether a few good blasts would sort it out, but the pessimist really didn't want to be stuck with a bike that had an intermittent fuelling stutter.

The hunt continues! Anyone who knows of a bullet for sale in the Southampton/Winchester area please let me know (preferably at the cheap & scruffy end of the scale rather than immaculate & expensive, because I intend to ride it regularly and clean it occasionally).

I wonder. Hestitation on the throttle is the mapping, one of the reasons I fitted the PCV to mine - but it is not a case of they all do that because they don't. Although I must say the injector dithers about from shut-off to back on the power at 0% to 5% throttle I've got a work in progress with the PCV/AT-200 to get a smooth transition of power without lurching there.

I wonder if that bike had the Hitchcocks map or a generic 'Harley' map. I also wonder if the laptop had been waved at the PCV because you do have to enable the map with the laptop when you fit them. The idle screw can need tweaking from time to time, it's not a jet but something like an air-bypass which effectively opens a a secondary throttle; that can affect the pick-up too, as well as uneven idle.



The Hichcocks PCV includes an ignition table, you can get Power Commanders with and without ignition modules.
