Does anyone know of a supplier of the replacement 3 phase RR unit. The original unit 'seems' much better quality (cables are colour coded, the plug is strong and up the job etc etc) a friend recently got one from Hitchcocks and the quality is not good (sorry Hitchcocks). The plug is well inferior, all the cables are black and not well terminated, it doesn't have any feel of quality to it.

The 'original' RE RR-unit should be part number 592174. Not everything is in the 'Accessory Shop' nor in the 'Parts Book Online'. Best bet is to give Hitchcocks a phone call, they're very helpful (and fast). Most RE dealerships can supply genuine RE parts but don't hold stock.

And are you sure the RR-Unit is faulty? I would take a quick look at the generally rather shoddy battery terminal connectors.

All the indian connectors tend to be thin with poor plating, a little moisture and some electricity and they corrode rather easily. So always check the associated connectors. The RR-Unit is nicely sealed up and has no moving parts...

Yes, the original RR unit is faulty - the rectifier is not giving the correct circuit resistance readings forward/reverse. I'll try one of the main RE dealers, I think there is one in Glasgow, and see if they can supply the same as the original. Thanks.
