Interesting - love the colour and the lines apart from the exhaust. I think that works much better with a low level system. I had a similar exhaust configuration with a triumph silencer on an 04 with the same, I think, 21 inch wheel, but I had trials bars and hence seemed to work as a complete item. Great looking machine aside from that, and I really like the chrono and lamp - all very individual. Does it go well with the open csrb?

Now that looks good and the business too! I got an 08 leanburn last week and it came with original unused panniers that our hosts used to list, but not now as unavailable. Previous had ripped out sprag and wiring so have to rebuild all that, however only 1600 on the clock and my first run the other day was good - amal mk1 will make a difference and that goes on tomorrow. I should add, I had the last ever Watsonian Woodsman, an efi, great bike but just a bit too high and the sprag failed within 300 miles, then the battery, so it got the boot.

Let me first say that the bike looks fantastic, but be wary of stands from places like ebay, my mate was unlucky to have one snap on his newly restored BSA, resulting in much damage including the newly painted tank, the snapped stand metal looked like the bubbly part of a chocolate Aero, it was total crap.

I cant understand why someone would buy a side stand off ebay when our hosts supply quality spares, always tested and if they fail, are replaced. I also would not buy an ebay part then post a note here.......!!

Bertie, just to clarify, with regard to side stands I did say that I bought mine from our hosts. I think it was actually made by Samrat, which is an established after-market supplier.

With regard to Indian stuff quality IS variable. Our hosts have to get spares from India for obvious reasons, but you will sometimes see "reject" items in the special offers section, I suspect that this is where they have tried samples from various Indian suppliers, whose quality led them NOT to place any further orders!

Sofiaspin asks why anyone would buy a part from eBay. Simple answer is that some of us are on a very tight budget, where every few quid counts. Sometimes you just have to take a chance. As it happens the stand fits perfectly and is very strong,(I tried to bend it in a cattle grid). Unfortunately it seems to fit INSTEAD of the centre stand, rather than as well as. C'est la vie.

When I bought my 08 classic, previous owner had installed a cheap repro speedo from ebay, which failed in double quick time - no refund or return. I bought one off our hosts, and it failed, and was replaced. I learnt early on in Enfield ownership, our hosts have done their research and more often than not, cheap products sourced elsewhere end up being a false economy and cost more in the long run, not just direct costs, but hassle, time, postage, etc etc.
