Due to a steady deterioration of my left leg, I decided to bolt a support for my leg on the sidecar chassis of my BMW/Squire ST1 outfit. I could have made it myself but I found amongst the many useful bits for projects suppliers a "universal" drivers left foot rest plate for fitting to rally cars, that looked as if it could be made to do the job....
I phoned their mail order line and told the person who replied it was cheaper to modify the part than to make it myself...
Their response surprised me:- "Please don't stop making things."..
Anyway next day it arrived and two 1.5" diameter pipe clamps later, plus two holes in the plate drilled out bigger and one extra hole drilled so I could angle the plate in line with my leg, the job is a good un...
I will now be able to go long distances with my leg supported and easily move it to change gear when necessary.

Do you have any pictures papasmurf? I once broke my left patella (kneecap) on an old Bultaco and rode it home with my leg resting on the left-hand kiskstart! I was a lot younger then though......
