Papasmurf, what you say makes sense to me as the general concensus seems to be to fit a non restrictive exhaust and air filter before considering any power boosting tweaks. Which will be my first port of call as that should be relatively straightforward.
As I understood it from a phone conversation I had with our hosts some time ago, the tune up kit gives more pulling power right through the rev range, it doesn't achieve the boost at the expense of revving it harder. That's how i understood it.
Thanks for the heads up on the carb Ray, I didn't realise you could use the existing sparks, I assumed they were integral with the EFI and one wouldn't work properly without the other. I imagine though that you need to set a carb up carefully, it doesn't sound like a trivial task.

Anyway, back to the question I posted, if anyone who uses this forum has had experience of the Hitchcocks performance kit for the EFI 500's I'd be very interested to hear their opinion and experience of it.
