.... be restricted to 50mph, and the inside lane only on motorways, strictly no overtaking, period.

Bryan, I think that is because Bullets like mine can`t overtake them if they are going any faster.

No way, I think they should have to do no more than 2mph with a man walking in front of them, waving a flag.

It would be far better to ban groups of motorcyclists riding 2 abreast in a long line blocking the road

Because they pull out of a slip stream thinking they have the power to overtake, realising they haven't and take about 3miles to do so reducing a three lane highway down to one causing tailbacks.

RoSy, the overtaking habits of LGVs is CAUSED by their restriction to 60mph, nothing to do with their power. Because of the inaccuracies of the restriction equipment one lorry will be able to do 60, another will be able to do 60.5 hence the 3 mile overtakes. If they were allowed 70 like everyone else there wouldn't be a problem (unless you want to go faster than 70 which, of course, is unthinkable;-)

It'll all be sorted when George Osborne's driverless lorries start running in convoy up the M1. To quote Colonel Kurtz, "the horror, the horror"

I remember long ago, in the good old days, overtaking an artic while going downhill on a dual carriageway on my Honda CB500T [still with me]. I thought to myself 'the bike doesn't feel like it is going as well as normal, as it was struggling a bit to pass the lorry with me seated normally - then I realised I was doing 95 mph and the lorry must have been doing over 90!! That may be a bit much, but I think they should be allowed to go faster than 56 mph, apart from when they are right on your arse while riding a totally standard Indian 350 Bullet, that is pretty scary, but the bike's fault for being too slow. I shall now find somewhere to hide ...
