Hi all, Not sure if this has been shared before so here it goes.

I have just brought a new type of crash helmet for use on my super meteor. It is a REEVU flip front helmet that has a mirror system built in so that you can see behind you.

Not much use to those who have mirrors fitted I appreciate. But personally I can't find a aftermarket mirror to fit that I like the look of and also one that you can actually see anything in. So until now I have done without. However due to a few very close calls last year I have now purchased and tested this helmet tonight. While the mirror looks bulky once on your head it doesn't impose on vision at all and the image in it is pretty clear. I suffered abit of blurring at 80+mph on my Honda but as I don't ride the enfield that fast it shouldn't be an issue.

Purchased it through a company called Just helmets based in Newcastle. they offer an excellent postal service with guaranteed swap or return if the helmet doesn't fit. Really nice and easy to deal with as well. The helmet arrived double boxed with loads of packaging round it so it was safe in transit.

What about the glare from vehicles coming from behind?
The helmet has a series of reflective surfaces that limit the intensity of light hitting the front reflective surface. This limits the intensity of reflected light significantly. Even a slight turn of the head can ensure the reflective light path is stopped. The helmet also comes with a fitted mirror rear visor which also reduces sun and headlamp dazzle.

This helmet looks a good idea to me, the plane black colours look the best in my opinion. The mirrors on RE's have never been good for rear guard duty..Would allow the removal of the mirrors for a cleaner look.

This is definitely going to be the top of my list, to try, when it come time to renew my helmet.

I rode to work last night with it and it was clear. The image is small but will be usefull on the sm. Rode home this morning in darkness and didnt once get dazzled. The image is tinted slightly. If you do get dazzled then it really is a case of dropping your head a fraction and its gone. I love it. Ed
