After cooking dinner and after much searching I found my TV remote in the freezer once! On a more relevant note. I had an intermittent starting issue on the Electra - I checked all the wires/connections - found no issues put them all back together and it's been fine since. I take all the credit of course!!

Lee B, it is very easy for the connecter block from the igniter box to the coil to become disconnected, when doing something else on the bike, it doesn't look disconnected, but it is. (Found out the hard way, now it is the first thing I check if there a starting issue.)

You have discovered Sod's Law.

Murphy's Law says that if it can go wrong it will.

Sod's Law says that it will go wrong at the least opportune moment, the corollary to Murphy's Law i.e.

when it's most embarrassing, the least accessible or most expensive component, or when it can do the most damage.

What about Norm's Law?

"If you rashly promise to take a look at their bike without asking what model it is, they will always turn up pushing an Electra X."

It happened again this morning, since fitting brass skull ended handle bar grips to my Electra X (ish) the throttle has not been closing when left to its own devices.
Just now I "split" the plastic casing that holds the throttle wire, starter button, and so on. The grip slipped off no problem. I put everything back together and the throttle now works perfectly. Why it was sticking I have no ides.

Leon says when you lose your glasses they are on top of your head. Not when you're adjusting the clutch on your Works Rep Trials bike they're not. I couldn't find them so I wheeled the bike forward to check the other side and CRUNCH! I'd put them on the floor in front of the rear wheel thinking I'd never forget where they were. Oh how they laughed in the opticians when I explained I'd run over my own specs...
