Hi all, the instruction books say that Champion L10 would be the right spark plug for the 500 Twin and Meteor bikes, so Champion L90 nowadays if I am right. Did the Redditch gentlemen mean such a hot grade as a standard spark plug? What grades do you use in your big twins? Thanks for comments, Pike.

I think you have to remember that even in top condition these engines burn quite a lot of oil and high spark plug nose temperatures (ie hot plugs) are a way to avoid sooting and fouling. A lot of Owners don't realise that if you have a coil ignition equipped bike you can use the equivalent Iridium plug as sold for modern Bullets and this will also help. I noticed better tickover and pickup when I fitted them to mine.
