Hi guys
I am considering getting a BB ignition system for my twin-plugged Bullet 535 (compression ~8.0:1) – this will avoid the problem of too early advance and help with my under-reading dual-fire tachy. I have three questions which I’d appreciate your valued opinions.

At the moment the bike uses a dual coil from our hosts and will rev well over 5000 without missing (I’m not into racing it). But once I use the BB (or indeed even the new-style Pazon), that has a wasted spark – so the coil gets less time to charge during each cycle.

BB say that they prefer to use a pair of 6v coils and show them wired in series. But what if one blows replacement would be problematic since 6v coils are far less commonly available here than 12v ones – and indeed the dual coil is readily available from many suppliers.

So, here are the 3 questions:
1. Does a dual coil get fully saturated at normal road revs if a wasted spark system is used?
2. If one of the 6v coils fails, does the whole system fail and I need 2 new coils or will one work enough to ride home?
3. If I continue to use the dual coil, do I need the standard single system (red box, GBP78) or must I spring for the competition dual system (blue box, GBP171)? What about the BB Digital (GBP100) – is that better?
Please note that owing to our failing currency and our failed governments taxes, customs duties as well as courier because our postal service has also failed, landed costs here are ~110% higher than list price, so it becomes critical to get the right one!
Thanks
