I'll be doing the North Coast 500 this summer, going up through Wales, back down via the Eastern coast and calling in at Lands End just to round things off.

I will need to fit a rack and top box to assist with the luggage side of things.
Can anyone tell me how far the 200003 REAR LUGGAGE CARRIER, BLACK, ENGLISH MADE with fixing kit, BULLETS & B5 EFI extends beyond the rear light lens on the B5 please.

Ric, if you go into the Accessory Shop section, Frame/Luggage and scroll down to the Givi panniers listing they seem in the picture to be attached to this carrier fitted to a Classic model. The picture angle isn't ideal but it'll give you a rough idea I think. Otherwise email our Hosts, I'm sure they'll have pictures of a demo bike or possibly another Customer's. Great idea for a trip by the way, tell us more?

Thanks for the replies. I'm a bit short on parking length. I'm not too sure if the Enfield plus a rack is more than the limited space available. I don't want to fit a rack and find I can't close the shed doors, but would rather use a rack and box over a pair of throw-overs.



I came across this site quite recently https://www.northcoast500.com/itinerary ... e-(1).aspx It's a short itinerary covering 500 miles with Inverness as the start/finish point. I'll be doing this sometime in July but will be taking a slight detour to ride around Loch Ness on Day1 instead of a quick glance (over lunch) as suggested but other than that following the route as listed.
To expand the sightseeing experience they'll be one day riding through/around Wales, one day in the peak district and one in the Cairngorms before taking the short journey onto Inverness. On completion it's back south via Northumberland, the Pennines, the Dales and Peak district. The rest of the journey is still in planning but will hopefully include (free) social stopovers in Norfolk and Kent.

Ric having been to a lot of motorcycle rallies, where people rock up on solo bikes with enough luggage to tackle the Silk Road, I am always amazed at the ingenuity of people in making "Destroy-It-Yourself" folding or quickly detachable rear racks. (In many cases 3mm thick aluminium tread plate seems to be your friend.)

That sounds like a cracking ride on a RE, I've done NW Scotland a few times on a bike and would some of it is purpose made for RE riding. I'm a bit limited for biking trips for a while so have to stick to something quicker for longer trips but am hoping to do similar next year on my RE. If you don't mind me asking, how long you planning to take and any tips on where/how to get Enfield friendly route plan?

Trev, I'm taking a wandering three days to get up,then I'll follow the schedule and probably take about a week or so to get back.
There's an interactive G00GLEmap on the northcoast500 web site which will probably come in very handy.

One day doing North Wales? My parents retired there. Imo you need a couple of years to explore North Wales (or anywhere else).



Go at a journey at a more leisurely pace and enjoy the sights, stop and smell the flowers, otherwise you come away with just a lasting impression of a strip of tarmac.
