It should be pinned, so that everyone on here can watch the short video and understand just how important this is - THIS MESSAGE COULD SAVE LIVES. And Steve, ignore papasmurf's silly comment - he doesn't actually own a motorcycle let alone ride a Royal Enfield.

nigelphoto, I want an immediate apology for those comments. I made no stupid comments, the 112 service had massive publicity when it was launched, which was over 10 years ago. PLUS there is false information on that video, no phone signal and it won't work. There are still plenty of dead spots for mobile phones in the UK that are dead for all signals whatever the provider. (That includes lifeboat crew and helpers emergency bleepers in several areas where I live)
My wife and I have two sidecar outfits and two solos. I purchased my Electra X (ish) as a 65th birthday present for me and have posted photos of it on this forum.

papasmurf you will not get an apology from me - ever. For one, I have had a mobile 'phone since the early '80's and I've never heard of the 112 service before - and it could well be the case that there are others on here who also haven't heard of this very useful, potentially life savings piece of information. Your posts have consistently been either of little help or downright rude and dismissive of other people's opinions - as indeed I have had occasion to point out to you in the past. Your offhand dismissal of Steve T's post and his attempts at putting up the short video are nothing short of contemptuous and at the playground level of 'well, EVERYONE knows that' snigger, snigger. If anyone needs to apologise I suggest you do so to Steve T. In the meantime try to tone down your natural tendency to armchair generalship and contribute in a positive and helpful manner if you have personal experience of the topic under discussion and we can all enjoy using this helpful and friendly message board.

In case you had not noticed, I actually gave instructions on how to post a video.
The thread header gave no indication of what the thread was about. I am sorry you did not know about the 112 number but it is in the manual for mobile phones.
It has also had very widespread national publicity
Safety is a VERY serious issue with me, and I am NOT happy with a that video because it is just plain wrong.
If you are in signal dead spot that is just what it states on the tin unless you happen to be carrying a satellite phone on you.
Why you stated I don't have any motorcycles I really cannot understand so please retract and apologise for that statement.
