Having just found a meteor minor distributor cover amongst my junk I wondered which models/years it was made for and as many other motorbikes used the same distributor without covers why it was made? Graham

De-luxe Twin models, Meteor Minor, Super Meteor, probably Connie also when it became a sidecar machine, approx 1961 to 64. An Enfield part only.

Hi Graham,There was 2 types of distributors for the M/M the early 1959 models the covers was bigger and had a flat bottom whereas the later type was slightly smaller and was round or cylindrical shape .If it is the flat bottom type and you have no use for it I would swap you for some thing you may need if I have it or do a deal with you.
Not sure what you mean by your last question asking of other motor bikes used the same distributor with out covers and why it was made ??

Kevin, my MM takes the later type. Take a look in the parts books online (left of screen) at the 1958 and 1960 models, that shows both of them. here are the links, use 'page back' to return here.

1958 MM

1960 MM
