Is anyone using the GT reverse cone mega as seen in the "accessory shop" on this site? How would you describe it's volume? I assume that you're using a power commander, what map are you using? How do you rate it's build quality? To me it looks much better suited to the bike than the others in the "accessory shop" and if it's not offensively loud I think that's what I'd go for.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply.

Hi

If you mean the Indian import one then that is what I have. Quality is good but it is loud.

It is quieter now I have the PCV set up due to the extra timing. I am using the richest map bar the one for the lumpy cam and valves.

It is louder than a '37 16h and compares to my Ducati SS on open carbon cans

Thanks Nobbi1977. Is it that loud that you expect to attract the attention of the law each time you use the bike or you've maybe been pulled up because of it already?

The only copper I've encountered (at petrol station) just wanted to drool over my bike. I'm using the '50s free-flow' (91080, just below the reverse mega) on C5, it's probably louder than a Norton 16H (similar silencer). It's tricky, the original Crusader/Continental 250 silencer was a low-level 'tulip', something like a long 50's (see 91087) with the end tube removed (which you can't do because that's where the baffles are on them). A short goldie might look good but Rickmans used reverse megas and you could hear them howling 3 miles away over the din of the M4. As for annoying, the noise usually causes big cheesy grins and occasional waving from pedestrians. It's a lot quieter since I've managed to seal the pipe to the head.

I have a stainless reverse cone mega on my GT that was made for me it sounds as most have said like something from the past and in fact to me when riding sounds really crisp and clean.
Fit the K&N and air box plate and PCV at the same time it creates a much nicer smother ride with more punch when overtaking.
Mind you I do a lot of two up riding so needed the little extra to pull her indoors along...!!

Can you add pictures to the forum to share upgrades?

ImageYes, you can post pictures. I am trying this one at Astley Green to see if I can still do it. I use the TINYPIC system. I think you can get onto it by clicking on this picture.

I am not very good at computers, but I'll put a couple of suggestions on here which may help.

Then I hope someone proper will come along and rescue us!

"Browse" to find your own picture and click on it. Also, write whatever title you want in the TAG space.

RESIZE: select 640x480 - Message board. NOT FORUMS LINK... butHTML. Then follow instructions on the site.

Copy their code that comes up all the way along; you'll have to keep the mouse down and sort of drag it along. Then paste that onto your HITCHCOCKS message page.

HELP! I THINK I'VE PUT YOU OFF FOREVER!!!!! Give it a try and somebody will surely comew along and sort you out. It's easier than what I have written???????????

Good luck, Chris

Re PCv mapping, you want to phone Hitchcocks, Wayne I think, for maps and map modifications.

It is not loud enough to get pulled by the old bill. There are not enough revs in these bikes for it to sound that bad. The Ducati on the other hand is cutting a very fine line.

I noticed so rust spots on mine yesterday despite it having never having seen rain so it will need treating to last long. A coat of ACF50 should keep it looking nice
