Nigel, you didn't really think they would remain seated, did you?.

It may well be fused, but surely it is better to use a lower value second fuse, that way any fault in the added wiring will only blow that fuse and not disable the bike.

Err, can I just mention that Nigel says, in his initial post, that its fused.
Sorry, I'll sit down again now.

In fact the Scalyback wiring diagram (and the circuit diagrams I produced from it) have three fuses, but they are for the 2011 model and my 2014 bike has four fuses.

(Just to add to the confusion!) :-)

But tee-ing into the brake light feed seems a fine idea, and an extra in-line fuse can't hurt.

OK Pete go sit and have a cuppa while you are there, is the unit a fused input or fused output? and will the fuse protect any additional wiring?.

Thanks EFI owners for taking the time - as I said in my Thread start post the 12v-5v DC converter has a 2a in line fuse. Of all the options I like Retro Venture's best as a) I know he does it to his C5s and he runs lots of them and b) its the simplest and as a simpleton I like simple. Simples!

Nigelphoto, are your sidelights (pilot lamps?) switched with the ignition, I know it depends on country, but my UK EFI had? has a three position switch, all off, pilot, instrument and tail on, all on. So it is possible to turn the pilot lamps off.

Jefrs you say you have fitted a tacho? What sort is it and where did you mount it, any chance of a photo? Thanks Steve

Yes, I've fitted the Smiths tacho 'rev counter kit' from H p/n 92600. It does not fit the current C5 fork top but I used a 'Made in England' Brooks saddle pin clamp which just happens to be 7/8-in and very secure, and a Tee-shaped 'mending plate' from builders yard. It is wired into the switched side of the ignition switch and to the coil/ecu terminal for feed. I do not have a picture (yet) but will be seen on my YouTube here - https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&featur ... lfIGVyPg8M (no, I don't know how to link a video in)

Four fuses, one main which appears to pass all current except starter motor. Then three fuses, lighting, signalling and ECU, which all seem to take juice through the main fuse. I do need to check this with notebook and pencil.
