One might also check current drain with the ohmmeter, these generally use a 9V supply and one lead will be positive, usually the red one but worth checking with another voltmeter. Disconnect battery positive and measure resistance from red bike leads (plural) down to frame by connecting red to red and black to frame or battery negative (-ve earth). It is only polarity sensitive due to any electronics, it shouldn't hurt anything if you connect wrong way round but you'll probably get the wrong reading; do it both ways. Some electronics have a threshold voltage and the DVM battery won't get them conducting.

Before connecting any electrical equipment to a bike with 'electronics', like the laptop to the PCv, always ground the equipment to the bike before making other connections. A mechanic fritzed my car's ecu when he plugged his laptop into its mains charger and spiked the ecu. An expensive mistake..

also, just press the brake pedal with the battery disconnected, before connecting ohmmeter especially with any boyer stuff fitted.

I disconnected Kevin's terminals, went to the UK for 7-8 weeks, came back and managed to press the horn button whilst getting the cover off. Bloody thing went off and surprised the heck out of me. both battery terminals were still disconnected. I guess that the capacitor is very good and that there are no leaks in Kevin's electrics!
