PDetc - I didn't realise the pillion could be shifted aft. My wife's complaint is the thing simply is not wide enough, and it is the width of the mudguard - I have not seen anything wider.
It's a long while since I've recovered a seat but it is well do-able and there are any number of custom seat recovering services out there. Otoh this framed pillion like the export solo seat is one of RE's better offerings. Do not recover a seat with real leather with our english weather, not nice, it's the opposite of shoeburyness...
Our rear foot pegs now flip up toward the toolboxes (right angles to slope of box) which I find easier for me to flip up and down with a hand or toe whilst on the bike. They're not low enough to contact the ground but do still flip up if they catch something (usually my leg).
