Andy,

thanks for getting back to us. The other (post '56) Redditch frame bikes I have ridden do feel a bit taller than my Indian Electra-X, I think the rider's half of the Indian dual seat sits lower. On my AVL/Connie hybrid and now on this one our hosts' front brackets for the seat were too short, but by using the 7/8" alloy plugs supplied with the top yoke kit as spacers (bored out for the 5/16" set screws that fasten the brackets to the seat), I have it finally looking "right", compared to how it looks in the photo. This of course does raise the front of the seat, though not quite as high as yours.

I prefer the ride of the Redditch chassis, both on the hybrid and on a '57 Bullet I used to own, it somehow feels more stable than my Electra-X.

Hi Adrian
Looking at the 2 photos of the seat height yes mine is high than yours so I will be making a change
to try and lower the front of my seat will make some slots in the brackets to lower them. on another note do you know of any one selling clear vinyl stickers as I wish to stop the from of the tank rubbing the seat

You could always cut a square of what those of us of a certain age will remember Valerie Singleton calling Sticky Backed Plastic, most craft shops will probably still have rolls of clear self adhesive vinyl. The other option while you're fine-tuning the seat mounting is to elongate the holes in the mounting brackets so that the seat can sit a teeny bit further back, just enough to put a smidgeon of clearance between the rear of the tank and the front of the seat.
