My Honda has ABS and linked brakes, the front calliper has 3 pots, the outer 2 are operated by the front brake and the centre pot by the rear brake, it works extremely well, it's well balanced braking, I can also come to a straight controlled stop from high speed, even on a dusty or leafy road, not something that was easy to do on my older bikes, Ithese innovations are for our own good.

"why you you would want such a system on a 125 I don't know.".... Some 125's are capable of 100mph so yes such a system is a very good idea.

This is all getting too much - time for us to be given a vote on whether we stay in or leave the EU. Luckily I'm so old I can say I've bought my last motorcycles; my Classic 500 and 30 year old MZ will just have to see me out.

TRUCKS v. MOTORCYCLE braking distances. At http://www.ukmotorists.com/hgv%20brakin ... tances.asp . there is an extract from a paper written by Kevin Birch of RoSPA Driver Services in June 2001. From 30 m.p.h. to stop, Honda Pan European Solo M/C, 7.96 metres. Iveco tractor and trailer Laden* to 42 tonnes, 27 metres. BLOODY TERRIFYING. OK it’s fifteen year old research but I would imagine that the vehicle and tyre technology in both classes of vehicle has probably advanced at the same rate. Adam

Interesting that the Institute of Advanced Motoring seems to think this legislation is coming into force.

Well now that's a whole different debate - Personally I think a referendom is a terrible idea, mainly because the vast majority of the public simply don't know what the long term consequences of In or Out would be. Most people would vote based on personal issues and petty prejudices which would not necessarily be in the best interests of the UK as a whole. I'd vote to stay in, but as an expat brit living in France it's in my interests for the In vote to win. See what I mean about personal issues and petty prejudices? Surely the people we elect to run the country should have a better idea of what's good for the country as a whole, especially in the long term. Although I doubt it would make any difference to the issue being discussed here, I'm sure most manufacturers wouldn't want to bother building too many UK only models, for the most part I suspect we'd get the same bikes they build for the rest of Europe anyway.

The Institute of Advanced Motoring does not enact law.
I still cannot find ANYWHERE on here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications any notice to motorcycle dealers about this. No notice it is not happening.

I have given the link to the government website if anyone else cares to search it please feel free.
