I was not impressed with the place at Silchester, that's over this way, I'm in Newbury (moved long ago). Went there, underwhelmed, went to Salisbury. So it's not the huge car sale place in Slough of the same name?

As you're this end of Berkshire then new batteries are in Youngs on Paices Hill - Berkshire Parts and Panels' shed no.32

But I would take it back to Easter Park first and get them to replace it, even if it's one off another bike. First port of call has to be the dealership.

My Classic has about 1000 miles on it now, it has stood for a fortnight. I take it for 5, 10, 20, 40 mile runs. Lights are always on but front three pilots are LED see-me daylight DRL now. I do mostly lazily use the electric wellie and have never had the slightest concern with the battery, plenty of go in it, I expect it to last years - except when the thin connector to the +ve terminal snapped (replaced with eyelet).

That is a point, do check the connectors are "zero ohm" because if they're poor, the battery won't charge.

If you're local and need help give me a shout.

Another thought, same fault would occur if the battery is good but not charging. Check for wire-off from the alternator and rectifier/regulator. The indian wiring work is a bit iffy, look for loose connectors. The circuit diagram shows the charge current passing through two fuses (why two?), check the fuses. The indian fuses on mine were corroded, so it is possible one has blown - replace the lot.

Thanks for that but I've only ever found three live fuses in the biscuit tin. The 'home market' India diagram show the lights fuse in series with the indicator fuse (which is daft). So somewhere between the home, the export and Scalyback's diagram lies the truth :) My point really is that the fuses are aluminium, standard car fuses, my indian ones were corroded (poor aluminium can do that esp if you add electricity), they're cheap as chips, replace the lot.

It is not a minor problem. It is a new machine, under warranty, batteries are not cheap so take it back whence it came. Batteries can be duff from new, I do know that, it happened to me a couple of yeras ago
BTW Sodding around yourself could invalidate any future warranty claims

Thanks for all of your help I will call the Dealer tomorrow I was just hoping someone may have suffered the same issue so I knew the Dealer was correcting the issue first time or I could sort myself. I am not worried about the work myself as I am a certified engineer but new to this bike and looking for tips and hints as we all do. Cheers again RR.
