Once upon a time we didn't replace brake shoes, we had them re-lined. Is that not still being done? Any brake lining services left?

Dennis C, I am sure they are not the only company refurbishing brake shoes.
If the shoes are of the riveted kind "Destroy-It-Yourself" is an option.
(I did such a brake shoe refurbishment myself many years ago on a very large pre second World war car which had drum brakes of such a big diameter, the only brake shoe material I could find was normally fitted to cranes that run on overhead tracks on an industrial site or inside a large factory.)

Glad to see the A580 had its rifles pointing the right way. Blimey Scaly where do you find this stuff? And the Swiss army seem to have had a lot of excellent kit over the years. Take a look a cracking 4x4 that’s big enough to carry six squadies with full kit but light enough that same six squadies could man-handle it over a 2 metre high wall (allegedly). ……..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT8e4XzmohM ……….. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPXb_RctaNc ….. see history at 46 secs. The swiss have take off runways inside the mountains. The planes are launched right out the side.I think they land elsewhere and are then transported back inside the mountain.
