Quote from unhappy purchaser's description:
"Not only is it very poorly welded, chromed and finished, it is actually a 350cc pipe which has had a larger bore piece welded on in order that it will fit a 500cc model! The result is that if it is fitted to a 500cc Bullet, it will reduce the power due to restriction."
Well on the Woodsman high level pipes that is EXACTLY what our hosts do for the 500 pipe, I can't speak for the 500 trials pipe, but I suspect it's the same, and I further suspect that it is due to 1.5" pipe being easier to bend on such a tight radius than 1.75" pipe.
There is a school of thought which says the 1.75" diameter pipe is too large for the 500 Bullet. In the 1990's Team Sara, run by one of the classic bike dealers, raced a couple of 500 Indian Bullets, and one of their tuning mods was to fit the narrower exhaust pipe off the 350's to get the exhaust gases moving quicker...
Can't comment re the other quality issues, though.
