For anyone who has a problem with their Bullet`s battery cover popping open on a ride, and finding the battery has fallen out and hanging by the wires, then finding that the screw and spring have also disappeared, this is my solution.
A longer screw and locknuts holds them in place, no more battery `walkies` for me.

Hi Leon had the same thing happen in act now I just run a metric allen screw with washer screw it through the back swivel and I stick a small nyloc nut on end done up to just to nip up on the nylon, works well havent lost a battery in years.

The cable tie is not because the screw dropped out on the road or such like, it was because of garage gremlins. I dropped the bugger one time when checking the battery never to be seen again. It can stay like that now being as I have one of those sealed intruder alarm batteries that never need checking

Me too Brilliant they are too..Very little loss of power even when left a year.
And I did the Springy think on my Old Enfileds then Ended up Doing it on the Newer Locking box by using a Fixed Bolt ,Mudguard washer and Wing Nut....All Better than them Push a Plastic Side Panel into a rubber grommet that the Japs have..... Cheers All.

I thought about cable ties, but they are unsightly, they look a temporary fix and you need a new one every time you look at the battery. A shiny screw looks original and more pleasing to the eye. Well, that`s my opinion.

Many temporary repairs become permanent Leon. Black on black is none too noticeable plus of course I have not needed to look at the battery since spring 2013 when I fitted it

Hi Beezabryan what does that battery look like make, size where to get it etc, does it charge ok as I've done away with the AC lighting and everything is DC and using all LEDs except for the pilot lights, and I have Boyer electronic ignition. I think I'll need a replacement battery come spring.
