Hello everyone. Maybe covering old ground but I have a one year old GT Conti that has decided not to start! Check MIL errors and it gives the Injector circuit as malfunctioning (3 long 3 short). Checked injector with a 9 volt battery OK, pump has pressure. I've downloaded midlandbullet riders circuit diagram (godsend guys!). Will start circuit tracing for dodgy connections etc. Anyone know what would stop the logic firing the injector? Thanks in advance!

If the GT is only a year old, then it should be covered under the warranty?

Before going bananas, check for wire-off. The indian wiring is none too cleaver and Bullets vibrate, bits come loose. Check the connectiods around the throttle body. I've had a few minor faults on my new C5 incl poor quality fuel warning lamp that blew, shorted the circuit and blew a fuse: check the fuses and all the connectors off the ECU. Check for ground wires off. I've had a battery terminal connector snap off by itself and lost the little ground wire.

Don't believe the fuel pump, check you have actual fuel coming through to the injector. Check fuel line for blockage, clean the injector jet.

I always look for parts that move or can come loose before pulling it all apart and getting complicated.

Thanks Gents, the next job is wire chasing as I've checked the connectors. The bike is under warranty but as I live in "the wide brown land" a dealer is 2 1/2 hours away and due to the reorganisation of dealerships here, I would not trust that one with a push bike as they normally sell tractors! A decent dealer is 5 or 8 hours away!

Too right, jefrs, grocer is close but an hours drive for a shirt or pair of boots, often just use the post. Its actually quicker to get books fromm UK for various non obvious reasons. Have scalyback's circuit diag, was going to use as a basis. Will post when I get a result, hopefully.

Using Scalyback's circuit diagram, I saw that the injector and fuel pump were on the same relay. Deciding that it may be a relay issue I tried swapping the 3 relays between each other! Bingo! Will back track and check but dodgy relay or relay connection seems to be the issue. The relay bases don't look very good quality in any case. Will look into trying to improve that situation.

I have already found the indian lamp bulbs to be below par on quality, maybe the relays are too.

The relays are at least bog-standard car relays - swap the lot out for top quality.



btw when my fuel indicator lamp went and blew the fuse, it took the fuel pump out at the same time. Clue?

Car relays are a bit weird. The e.g. Bosche part number will be meaningless on another make but the obscure pin numbers on the base - 37, 86, 87, 87A - are all standardised. Seek ye relays with same number on pins and numbering. Have fun
