I had an 02 Bullet CI that I removed the PAV from, and want to remove it from the Electra 500, is the same procedure? i.e. blanking nut on head in this case, and plugging the hole on the manifold, what about any other pipes, I do not want to do away with the air box.

I know nothing about blanking the PAV but do want to find out whether it is advisable or even possible on the 500 EFi

Rubber blanking plugs however are called 'Blanking Plugs' of 'Blanking Grommets' (also sp 'gromet') available online, EBay, Amazon, etc and some at Maplins in the high street. Common as muck around electrical/engineering stuff. You need the I.D. and sheet thickness.

H also have some specifically for blocking certain holes in air filter boxes to keep rain out when re-purposed.

Yes, it's a simple as it appears, Thunderbird 2. Blank the hole on the exhaust and the inlet manifold, remove the valve unit, discard.

Or, use the hole in the inlet manifold to actuate your Scotoiler. :-)

Cheers Jefrs.
I'm getting to know the bike a bit now, a few things are different to the 350AVL, I like the screws all round the clutch housing on the 500 instead of the single central bolt, a lot less chance of oil leaks!
It had the o/e tci changed to the 'green' one,it has the PAV where as the 350 doesn't, as is better built than the un-official import, i.e stainless spokes, better solid switch gear and better paint finish.
Taking it for its first run with me tomorrow to Falkirk booty at the football ground weather allowing.

Thack - that's what I'm not sure of. I'm led to believe the new motor has an internal Pulsed Air system. I am getting some crack and snapple on the over run, yet can find no air leaks in the free-flow exhaust.

Thunderbird2 - the new motor has a very simple clutch cable system, only adjustment is on the cable tensioner but it is fussy and mine is becoming self-adjusting for some unknown reason.

Thunderbird 2 - re better electrics - if you have same switch gear as on 2015, they're allegedly poached off a Suzi Bandit, they look very adjacent.

No, I don't got stainless nipples but do have oil, wonderful stuff that stops rust. It was already showing rust spores, waved the oily rag at it and now it doesn't.

I'm still learning this bike, hence stupid questions.

PAV removed no problem, I cut a tiny piece off the pipe to the manifold and just pushed a 10mm bolt in so I did not need to damage the manifold, everything removed and saved in-case any one should want to put it back on, although I cant think why.The bike seems to have more mid-to-top power now as well.
Bike has lost quite a bit of weight since I got it, removed 'butterfly wing' crash bars, didn't particularly like the screen so that's come off, and the head light peak too, looked too much Indian for me, I like things plain and simple!
All can go on my usual annual spring boot sale table early next year.

Short of taking it apart and having read the workshop manual, it does not like the current EFi has a Pulse Air System, having an O2 sensor, and which is disconnected and fooled when one fits a PCv.
