Hi all,

I'm thinking it would be handy to have a side stand for temporarily propping up my bike when opening garage door etc. I have a 2005 sixty5 500T bullet. Out hosts do a few options and I'm wondering what you guys use/recommend?

Thanks in advance

The Samrat one is very solid and secure, had one on mine for years and its a great asset. They bolt on in the middle of the frame so the bike doesn't fall over, unlike earlier Indian and Redditch factory ones.

That would be my choice, they work well on Redditch frame bikes too. You might need a longer 3/8" frame stud to go with it. A.

Just put a few on, then you can choose which to use!!

As mentioned before, you don't want to pull away with the side stand down, but you will. So you want one that will flip up and not eject you, which is embarrassing. I'm interested in this because the stock one on the Classic EFI (which has a cut out) is too short and sinks into soft ground, although I'm not sure any of the alternate stands will fit.

jefrs, on my Electra X the engine won't start with the side stand down, and there is also a cut-out microswitch if the side stand is down that cuts the engine as soon as you engage a gear from neutral.
(My machine was assembled in the UK not India.)

Jefrs I always have a stand puck in my jacket pocket and try to park off line to other bikes after what I saw at Donnington a few years back, hot day, stands sank into tar mack, bike went down like domino's!
