Somethings do change. A few years ago after a 15 year membership break, I decided to call in at my local branch thinking about rejoining the REOC. Unfortunately I found it had gone from having a club ride once in a blue moon to a club with no rides at all. Not my kind of club.

I only stay a member to keep in touch with the guys, i dont think the Gun magazine is worth the subscription, and i may be missing something but it does not seem that we get anything more for our money..

I am a member, but not active. Although helpful on the phone, the dating service letter I got back for Bhaji was very unhelpful, so I got a registration wthout it. I can't see anyone wanting to publish the Bhaji story...I will probably turn up somewhere sometime to a meet but I know my mongrel will always draw sniffy comments, as well as those who will get it.
I am part of a boating forum which meets regualrly but isn't a club, has no rules, no membership, no committee no fees or subs and has attendances between 40 and 50 every time, all done by forum. After 8 years, a lot of us know each other well. I quite enjoy being not a club....

I do think the Bhaji story is worth publishing. As I said before a LOT of people have been burned buying bikes direct from India but you are an exception and I think readers would like to hear about it and get the benefit of any tips/advice you have. Just remember that like everyone else in the REOC the Gun Editor is a volunteer so you have to let them do things in their own time, don't expect to be in the next issue!

I love following it, seriously, if you sent the story to The Gun, with a few photos, I would guess it would go in.

Some of us on here mention that The Gun is not always that interesting, well... send stuff in! If we don't send interesting stuff to our owners club magazine, they are not going to be able to print it. I am thinking of sending some of my rubbish in, see what happens!

I'd say send it in and it'll most likely succeed. And make interesting reading.

I go to the South Lancashire branch meetings and we've no subs or complications at all. Just turn up and enjoy the bar/food beforehand and looking at/talking about bikes etc.

Theres plenty of 'mongrels' and non enfields at West Riding branch meets/ride outs, no sniffy comments here :-)
