Hi all just fitted our hosts oil breather mod and find reading the oil level on the new wire dipstick difficult to read where the oil is on it, has anyone attached a blade like the original or any other suggestions, I know let the oil go black then read it

I think in a post some while ago, somebody had painted their wire white. Whether this worked or not, and also if it was safe with the paint not coming off, I don't recall.



Anyway, forget all that... Just pop the cat's tail down there, then pull it out and measure against the dipstick, easy! You don't need to clean the dipstick, and the cat will have disappeared by now anyway!

Lay a sheet of kitchen towel or similar on your bench, wipe the dip stick clean and dip the oil level as usual. Place the dip stick on the towel and the oil will mark the towel enabling you to see where the oil level is. Works for me.
