Next weekend at the regular meeting place, The Cross keys, Pulloxhill, Beds. Camping from Friday, run on Saturday morning (if you are coming just for this, be there at 10.15 sharp please,) which will be about 100 miles with a lunch stop in the middle. If I've finalised my route by then! There will be one of Don's Quizzes and it looks like he'll have his Bighead special ready for the Run! The pub has good food and beer, just add Enfields and enthusiasts and we're all set! (This is an REOC event so for insurance purposes we will need to see Membership cards, if just joining the run that is ok but at your own risk.)

Mark, I would like to think ithe big head will be ready, but it is on SORN at the moment and I am not sure I will have time this week to get it MoT-ed as we have the grandsons with us for the week and promises have been made to take them to various places. Anyway, looking forward to being there with the Airflow.

You had good turnout ,I.ve just had your ride out pass me in the AA van in Hartwell.... Nice bikes and sun ,I really wish I could have joined you,hope you had a good time

Thanks AA, much appreciated, I admit I didn't notice your van if you were out in it? The very wet weather on Friday meant there were fewer campers than usual but we managed to keep dry and drink tea under the Club's gazebo until the pub opened! Saturday was a really nice day, sunny with just enough of a breeze to keep us cool. Several members arrived in the morning to join the run and 10 of us did a 100 mile round trip with lunch at The Coffee Pot Tavern in Yardley Gobion. While we were there a nice chap called John Wallis (who some may know,) swapped bikes with me so he rode my 66 Interceptor and I rode his 1924 Brough Superior SS80. (Some responsibility but chances like that don't come along often!) Well, that bike was an eye opener. I've ridden pre-War bikes many times but the sheer class of the Brough is way ahead. The faster you go the faster it wants to go and at 70 (sorry Officer) it is just loping along with more to come and smooth beyond any modern 4. We had a good evening in the pub and enjoyed Don's quiz, congratulations to Sali and Dave for winning! Thanks to all who turned up, including Phil and John who diverted to last year's Rally site where they had tumble driers... Our next Home Counties Branch meeting is this Wednesday the 29th at The Cross Keys, Pulloxhill, Beds at 8.00 pm so if you're available please come along!
