Another thought how about a fairing in a contrasting colour such as black, it will be easier than matching the colour and may look better

I can't remember seeing too many airflows around back in the sixties. I think that anyone who wanted that degree of weather protection probably bought an Ariel Leader. I can recall one of our secondary school teachers having a Leader, which still makes me think of them as being a bit "square".Only recently have I come to appreciate just how practical they were.
