Iron bullet spanks iridium plug

Took out the iridium NGK just to check and there was a large lump of scale or chalk or something white like that.

Have changed back to an NGK BR8ES for the moment to see what happens.

Strange how it seems to build up under the earth tag, cooler there perhaps allows it to solidify.

Obviously some kind of ash. Looks like it runs a shade rich but thats desirable.

What Octane you running? What brand? You know i don't like supermarket fuel, too variable in quality and the motor sounds like a blacksmiths shop due to knock or pinking.

Modern cars can run on this crap because they have variable timing controlled by knock sensors etc. Poor old enfield has to deal with it the best it can with fixed timing.

My opinion is clean/brake off the crud and use higher octane reliable branded fuel...

I don't think you will ever get a spark plug to keep as clean as you see in a modern engine when used in an old style engine such as a Bullet, but Simon you definitely have Enfield hands oil stained and roughed up

I used a BR8EIX.

Fuel is 97 or 98 BP, Murco, Texaco or Esso, which have been tested for no Ethanol, with my preference being the Murco (Cos they replied to my email).

I don't use 95 or anything from a supermarket or Shell garages.

Doesn't the points or boyer plate have advance / retard ?
