having only had my 2006 reg classic 500 (4 speed, drum brake, kick start only) I had little to compare it to re other enfield models.

my mate brought his newly purchased 2014 classic model down for me to see.. after finding 4 bolts in my bolt stash to replace the ones that had fell out of the rear mudguard (doh) I took it a ride. It handles much the same as mine, but the smooth, positive left hand 5 speed box was a joy and the front disc as good as by Bonneville if not better! nice machine, we went round a load of the fasteners and tightened a load up !! he's buying some nyloc nuts and thread lock liquid this afternoon!

he fetched it from 50 miles away, got it for £2900 with only 1000 miles on it. he came back down the M1 at 75mph no problem. mine COULD reach that speed but I've been warned it would probably need a rebuild after!

i'll stick with the one I have for now..perhaps

I have Tornado, my kick start 1994 4 speed bullet, and also a new woodsman efi.

The EFI goes faster, rides more smoothly, needs less maintenance but...

I prefer my older bullet

Hi,I bought a new Efi classic in Decembber last yrar and I'm delighted with it!I've done 8000kms on it with no problems except I lost three of the screws holding the heat shield on the silencer a quick visit to my dealer for some new ones and a spot of Loctite, sorted!

Ive got a efi electra, bought in march, in the past Ive owned 2 500 classics. I must say the efi feels more modern, smoother engine, disc brake up front, slightly better cruising screen, and an open pipe gives more character. The pre unit classic models are great bikes and more nostalgic, I think its up to what the individual wants out of a bike.
