I'd softened her up a bit the week before with a B50 BSA that I was a bit taken with. It went for more than I could afford but the groundwork was done. She is a remarkably biddable Sheila so I should count my blessings I suppose. She won't go anywhere near the bikes so perhaps she's pleased to see the back of me. As for the performance I've ridden a Mk3 V50 and it was very similar in performance. The gearing is quite tall and as I mentioned it has much longer legs that the Bullet. At 60mph you can choose between 4th and 5th and still have another 30 or maybe a tad more under the belt. The Bullet is of course at that speed very near the top of its useful range.
