Hi,
I'm new to this so please bear with me.
My fiancé and I are getting married in North Northumberland in August. He currently rides a Hayabusa but is desperate for a royal enfield and a second bike. He isn't going to get a second bike but this is where I would like your help.
On our wedding day he is staying opposite the church so won't be having a car but I would love for someone to turn up on a royal enfield for him to have a ride on as a treat before the service. He wouldn't go very far just along the country road where the church is. But I know it would be a complete surprise to him and he would love every minute. So am trying to find out if there is anyone around the North East that would be able to help me facilitate this whether I would be able to hire one from a company or privately someone would just like to be part of our day.
Any help would be greatly received.

Thank you.

Bridetobe, lovely idea but I see insurance problems arising. Do you know if Hubbytobe's insurance covers this?

Great idea I love it. As said insurance could be a problem. But that aside it is not a simple case of jumping off a busa onto an enfield. Enfields are ass backwards compared to what he is used to. However email me at echbarnes(at)hotmail(dot)com And i will see if i can be of some sort of service. Ed

Wonderful idea. Perhaps you should go one better and put an Enfield at the top of your wedding list.
I own something which although not quite in the same league as a 'busa is more than capable of trotting along at twice the national speed limit. An Enfield must be the total antithesis of the multi cylinder high revving sports bikes and is just brilliant in its unmodified form for engaging that totally enjoyable experience of slowly bimbling around our beautiful countryside without worrying if you're still going to have a driving licence by the time you return home.

Hi,
Thank you for your comments. I'm sure there will be a ride any bike policy I can find. He has owned and ridden other bikes but I totally understand it is going to be very different. I think it is the change of pace that is drawing him in. They are such fantastic looking bikes it would make a great addition to the wedding photos and will be such a surprise to him.

Ride other bike policies, even fully comp, only cover one for third party whilst riding someone else's bike. This means in an accident only the person you collide with is compensated, the bike you are riding is not.

To add another rider to a policy for a short period of time is cheap IF they don't have any "brownie points" on their license and have a no fault accident record.

That might be true of that particular Bikesure policy but it's not usual.
Thinking about it, if Hubbytobe is used to a Hyabusa he's not going to be overwhelmed by an RE! If I were closer I'd be happy to have him ride mine on third party only.
