Evening all. The rear brake pedal is siezed onto the fulcrum stud on my 2000 iron barrel classic. This is causing the brake to jam on. I've removed the nuts at both ends of the stud with the intention of hammering the stud out but it won't budge. I've also tried a puller on the stud and pedal but no joy. Any ideas how to remove the stud successfully? I've got a spare stud from our hosts. Thanks, Andy

I would try penetrating oil first ( not just wd40 - the proper stuff) and if that doesn't do it, get some heat on it.

Hi Pete. I eventually had to drill the stud out and discovered that the frame is threaded as is the end of the stud. I've fidded a replacement stud from our hosts but it's around a half inch longer so tyhe rear brake pedal has far too much play left and right. Have I fidded the stud incorrectly? It only appears to screw into the frame a certain distance so I'm very confused! Thanks, Andy

Dear all. No washers missing and no spacers came off the original assembly. I purchased part #110300 as my bullet is a RH gear change. It looks as though the stud should thread further into the frame but is stopping once the threaded part of the stud is completely screwed in. Any ideas? Andy

Had you asked us here about your sticky brake lever I for one would have advised removing the lever, cleaning the pin & lever to remove rust, apply grease and reassemble. Then maybe once or twice a year use a grease gun on the grease nipple
Clearly you now have a problem that cannot be resolved here, I suggest you speak to whoever supplied the wrong item.

Dear all. This morning I discovered that the stud hole in the frame is not threaded all the way through. The unthreaded part still contained some residue from the drilled out stud, which prevented the new stud from screwing all the way in. Once the residue was removed, the stud fitted nicely! However, I had to remove around a quarter inch of the longer thread on the stud as it fouled the drive chain. Indian tolerances? Anyway, things are back together now and the rear brake works as it should. Thanks, Andy
