Hello! I got my engine cases steamed finally, as well as my crank. My honda guru was looking at me before he cleaned it and said "this big end bearing is toast" I thought to myself, you've yet to take acquantance with enfield clearances! but after the steaming process it was dreadfully clear. My question now is: do I go with a plain bearing or is the needle roller upgrade a very welcome and needed upgrade? Also, I assume the crank will have to be rebalanced. Is this one of those professionals-only task and in need of special tooling? thanks! 1955 bullet 350 by the way! before I forget again hah!

You can fit a plain big end - the last one got from 1955 till now in all probability. Just make sure your oil pump drives are good and give it frequent oil changes and all should be well with it. Or fit a roller big end if you prefer.

Forgot to add, crank will not need to be rebalanced, but it will need to be retried.
