I almost forgot that after passing my test I got a job as electricians mate with Slough Council. At he interview I was asked if I had a driving licence. I of course replied that i had. I didn't say it was only a bike licence and when I turned up for my first days work the foreman gave me the keys to the van with instructions to go on an errand. he wasn't exactly pleased when I told him i could only ride a bike. The following day, he had procurred from somewhere, a Vespa scooter and box sidecar as my mode of work transport. Bloody awful thing. Still, he did let me put L plates on the van and eventually take the test in it. Happy days.

Started riding off road aged 14 on 500 Ajays, first legal bike was a fantastic DOT (SHY 63 where are you now) that was all back in the earl 60s, I am now nearly 69. I've tried to give up bikes but like any addiction once you're hooked you're hooked.
