I've just collected one of the first Black GTs, and I've noticed that most of the posts about the 535 on here are between 12 and 18 months old. Any one else still about on here?

Yes. The bike was born as a red one but repainted before I bought it. It was between a brand new red one and a second hand yellow one in the dealers. I'd actually gone there to look at the yellow bike (despite the fact I really wanted a red one) but the quality of the paint on the black one meant that the other two didn't stand a chance. Of course, now the bike is mine I've started finding the imperfections in the paint and it's a sod to keep clean but worth the effort.

Yes I'm running in my GT for the first 300 miles can't wait to open her up a little more and would like to lower the clip ons I been told I could maybe fit my standard ones underneath the top york turn them upside down on opposite sides and it shouldn't hit the tank has anybody done this ?

There is a little bolt hole on the clip ons to hold them in alignment. I might be worth just dropping them straight down, not flipping etc. Then threading a neat dome head bolt through the threaded holes in the yokes, and passing it through the plain hole in the clip ons, securing on the other side with a self locking nut. That to me seems like the best initial setup, as the only thing you're changing is the height. :)

Thanks Gavin I'll take a look at that soon just hope there is enough room not to catch the tank when turning would be nice to see results if anybody has done this yeat to their GT 535 thanks

I find these bars just right for me, so I won't be tinkering with them, so can't help you there. I've got a Kawasaki GPZ500s with VERY low clips-ons, and although it's ok when scratching around corners, it makes normal riding a chore. Plus, I tend to speed on it... a lot. So I'll be riding the GT mainly to preserve fuel and my licence! :)
