I have some eggs and I plan on counting how many chickens I get from them... Metaphors aside, I finally reattached all the bits and bobs to my bike yesterday and took it out for a test run tonight. Apart from being hard to start after being in bits on my garage floor the bike ran wonderfully. My smile is wide right now, and what was supposed to be 10 minutes of test run turned into 40 minutes of pottering around the streets of Paisley :) I wonder... Have I cured my bike? Hope so! If any other EFI-era out there get a misfire or rough running then give me a shout - I most likely have investigated it on my bike, a bike which had turned out to be the test mule for at EFIs everywhere! Serial number 000242 - I will keep you going! Thanks to Hitchcocks for testing my ECU by post.

Thanks for keeping us up to date, Michael. It'll be very handy for others in the future to refer to your posts.

For what it's worth, when my 2014 B5 started showing almost identical symptoms, a change of spark plug cured it, even though the previous one (NGK BPR6ES) looked perfect. Most odd.
