Torque is more important for sidecar duty.

Thats a nice looking 'flash Beeza. And good to see a skidmaster doing what its good for, ie on an outfit!
In my experience of outfits, mostly with matchbox/aj models but also a panther, ariel vb and even a goldie before I passed my test, I suspect one would be lucky to keep up with town traffic with a conti + chair. Shed loads of torque are a prerequisite and I'm not convinced the conti has that.

In terms of performance, this chair is fairly light so having a passenger in the chair is probably not much worse than carrying a pillion - thought it might be a different matter if you had a dual seat and a pillion as well.
I love the look of the GT and compared to my 350 Bullet it would probably feel quite fast, though not much faster than the delightful Honda 250 RSA I had years ago. If i buy a new bike, I would probably go for a bit more power. Still, one day soon I believe we will be seeing a parallel twin with the looks of the GT and a bit more go.

My ideal bike would be a modified 750 interceptor parallel twin engine in the new GT now that is what they should have used as an engine in it and it would have more guts that that 535.

Spot on Mate.....
I love the look but the stock engine is a Joke, I hope they do produce another café racer like the 535GT but with performance to match the look,if it was to be another single cylinder........it would be better to do a 350cc [shorter stroke] tuned unit instead of the 500/535,but I would much prefer a 750 twin, but for extra weight & power I think it would need a Tad better frame suspension & brake set up.

I have heard rumours of a twin cylinder engine being produced, to be honest I'm sure the Harris designed GT frame is capable of housing a twin cylinder engine.

And this is where Pathfinder hits on an interesting point that is hopefully covered in the idea of 'long term planning'

An old fashioned principle that seems badly lacking nowadays.
