Good Afternoon Guys

I recently bought a bullet sixty 5, I wanted to build a Trials style bullet.
But on a visit to the local bike shop where I take my Harley, I noticed a really nice Bullet 500 trials!
I took my Harley home and thought about swapping my sixty 5 for the trials bullet, as it would be cheaper and save me lots of time.

My sixty 5 had been converted to a right hand gear change, which is the first bike I have ridden with the gear change on this side, that took some adjustment as i keep trying to use the brake pedal to change gear !!!!

The Trials bullet is a kick start only and four speed Box, the kick start does not bother me as I preferred not youse the electric start anyway, then I have to get used to the box being reversed !!!!
Down for Up etc.

But that is not a problem either, but what I did notice was that the new bike seems more Revvy compared to the sixty 5!

I have heard that changing the Gearbox Sprocket to one with more teeth is recommended, could someone advise me on the best thing to do ???

The bike has 1800 km on the clock and runs really well.
My sixty 5 had 3800 Miles and had lots of upgrades such as the right side gear change conversion, Uprated clutch mechanism. I am not sure if it had different final drive ratios but it felt more relaxed at higher speeds.

I would be grateful of any advise and recommendations.

The top gear ratio of the 4 speed is the same as the 5 speed but the Sixty-five might have been altered of course.
It's quite possible to go up a couple of teeth on the 4 speed.
This would bring the revs down from 3235 @ 50mph(17 tooth - std) to 2894 @ 50mph (19 tooth)
If you do go for the 4 speed you could consider the close ration conversion which gets rid of the big jump from 3rd to top.
If I were you I'd think seriously before selling the 5 speed. It's a better box and makes the bike a lot better to ride. I would also revert to left foot change to get rid of the slop in the linkage.

Just realised, reverting to left foot change would be expensive unless you have the old bits.

Hi

The sixty 5 had one of the Hitchcocks conversions to right side and No linkage.
I have bought the four speed bike now, should I change the gearbox sprocket or the rear wheel sprocket
?
The sixty5 may have had the sprockets changed as it would do 80mph comfortbly, it had reasonable acceleration too.

I like the 4 speed bike but it does seem to be over revving in top gear and would benifit from a change of gearing
It pulls really well and handles well too .
Is the close ratio gearbox worth doing as for £200 more you can buy a 5 speed gearbox ?

If it's a serious trials bike the gearing may well have been lowered for off-road use. You may just need to revert back to standard 17 tooth gearbox sprocket.

Hi
It was one of the watsonian squire built Bullet 500T bikes .
I have not counted the teeth yet as I inly got it earlier, it may be that my sixty5 had raised gearing as that had a number of improvements .

Which is the best way to go, a bigger gearbox sprocket or one of the rear wheel kits that our hosts sell on this site ?

Rear wheel kits will only make it go slower
