I think it's a great looking bike Mr Jones43 and I only wish I could have/ride one. Sadly these days my constant companion Arthur Itis forbids such niceties as clip ons and rear sets. My only reservation with the Continental is the power output and I think it's a great shame they didn't go for a 35 to 40 bhp output rather than 27 (or whatever it is). It should surely not be beyond the wit of man to get the same output from a modern engine as Velocette or BSA did in the 1960s. Anyway congratulations and happy riding!.

Hi Riggers, thanks for your comments, I know what you mean about "joints" one of the reasons that I was looking for a bike with Electric Start was that I am finding more difficult every year to kick over my 69 Bonneville due to knee problems.
I really do agree on the Performance issue, 50 Years on, more that Double the Capacity than the original GT, and the bike is no faster at all, or so we think, I am 3 stone heavier than I was in 1965 which does not help, the new GT could have been built a lot lighter, and I am in the process of shedding some of the weight off the bike (I cant loose any myself).
I will get some of the tuning kit on offer by our host, and I will be using it for some track events this year when I can get away with a Classic Replica.

Just to let you tuning freaks know that I have just finished tuning my 53GT,using our hosts "full tuning kit" plus 40T sprocket,it goes Like Stink Now,what a difference!!!! why on earth did RE not do this in the Factory build, after all it is 2015 & not 1940.

In regards to my recent post above,if there was any confusion, the bike is the New RE 535GT [not 53gt]>>>>>>>>>>> Now grinning from ear to ear
